Renxiang Ding (BM. MBAcC. MATCM)

Renxiang DingDing” studied Chinese Medicine (also Western medicine) at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NJUTCM) for 5 years as a Chinese Medicine doctor. After graduation, he worked as a lecturer in Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Centre of NJUTCM for 15 years, before coming to the UK in 2002. He has been practicing Chinese medicine/ acupuncture in Plymouth since 2002. With 32 years of practical experience, he holds a high level of expertise in dealing with many common clinical disorders, from skin problems to internal conditions. Included in these are musculoskeletal problems, severe pain like sciatica, trigeminal neuralgia, headache and migraine. He was the winner of the “Best in the Complementary Medicine” by the Migraine Heroes Healthcare Awards 2009. Ding is also a qualified herbalist. His Tuina (Chinese Massage) technique is very unique (a kind of deep-invigorating massage). He also worked at Plymouth Derriford Hospital in the pain clinic during 2008 and 2010, when funding was available for alternative medicine.



Meilan Shen (BSc. MATCM)

Meilan Shen Meilan is Ding’s wife. She also had 5 years training in Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the same time as ‘Ding’. She obtained BSc and BM. After graduation, she had two years of clinical training for both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, including working in A & E. In particular she enjoyed the experience in the gynaecological department. This has proved very helpful in dealing with women’s problems in her later career. She then worked in the acupuncture department of Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Medicine Hospital for 16 years, where she accumulated clinical experience in many areas. She came to the UK in 2003, since when she has been practicing in Plymouth. She is good at treating various pains including lower back pain, headache/migraine, arthritis, sciatica and trigeminal neuralgia. Her gynaecological experience includes treating problems such as dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhea, morning sickness, menopause and infertility. She has been practicing in Plymouth for nearly 16 years.
